front air dam repair

'04 Aero The plastic(?) front air dam has been poked inward about an inch, about the size/shape of a tennis ball. It is close to the bottom and I can push it back out with my fingers, but it doesn't remain pushed out. If it were an indentation in sheet metal, it likely would pop back in place. What is the proper way to work with this material? Thank you.
