It's a problem with a blend door or a blend door motor. Do a system recalibrate and read the code(s). To recalibrate, hold down the Auto and Off buttons on the ACC, then let go after a second or two. The system will run through its recalibration test and report back to you on what it finds at fault via a pair of codes, displayed digitally on the ACC screen. The "side" of the car is on the far left of the display, and the "error" code is on the far right side.
I recently had this exact same problem on my 9-5 Aero and it was the passenger side blend door motor. They tend to get "tired" after a decade or so...
