Stay away from Ate brand - horrible squealing Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Mon, 14 Oct 2013 03:22:38 In Reply to: 2006 9-5 Going to need Brakes Soon, larry byer, Sun, 13 Oct 2013 06:38:45 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The noise is so bad following rain or car washes that I have begun driving the car around the block after every wash just to dry the rear pads. Otherwise they squeal enough to wake the dead the first time the car is driven in reverse.
I don't know what model of Ate but I can read the brand name on the pads. I assume these are not OEM but were installed by the previous owner for some unknown reason. The car only had 33K miles on it when I purchased and rear pads typically last a long long time.
