I have a question - how does one avoid uneven tire wear while under load on these cars? I am assuming that if the ride height is lowered due to increased mass in the trunk, it is equivalent to the the ride height being generally low... ie toe in and camber will be off... correct?

We were experiencing no unusual tire wear since redoing the suspension (except the bushings - I should probably do those now). On a long (3000+ mile) trip loaded to the gills we made a mess of the rear tires. Not completely gone, but inner edge wear and cupping (as if the tires were over inflated). We were at 38 psi on 225/45R17, which seems about right for a loaded 9-5. Certainly not overinflated? Since coming back, I rotated the rear tires to the front, and I am seeing no significant tire wear front or back now that the car is not loaded. This is a 2004 arc sedan with wagon springs.

So, is my only solution to find some form of cargo springs for this car? Will new bushings help, or will they also just get wrecked quickly by loading the car?

I will soon get my indy to check the alignment. He shoots for closer to zero camber and claims to have no problems once this is done... we did a long loaded trip a year previous after his last alignment with no tire wear issues. Also checking the tires after the first leg of this trip - no unusual wear - it was only the return trip where the wear became evident, and it is very significant! I wonder if maybe it is just the alignment went out somehow? how common is that? I've never had to align either of our c900's in 15 years of use!
