Air Con Stops Working After Engine Warms Up Posted by K8 [Email] (#1404) [Profile/Gallery] (more from K8) on Wed, 6 Nov 2013 16:19:55 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hello everyone. New member here to the SaabNet forum. Hoping someone will have an answer to a problem that I've been having with the Air Conditioning in my 1999 Saab 9-5 SE. It works fine when I first start the car, but stops working after I've driven around for a while and the engine is warmed up. (i.e. no more cold air - even in 105 degree weather - all I get is just air that is equal in temperature to that of the outside ambient air temperature).
Many parts have been replaced, but nothing has worked yet. Here is a brief history of the tests and replacements that have been done so far...
Coolant has been refilled, and no leaks have been detected.
Comfort Switch was tested by bypassing it.
The Tech2 is indicating that the AC is losing its connection.
ACC Code # 22
All the following parts have been replaced:
ACC Control Panel
Solar Sensor
DICE computer
Main computer
AC relay
Pressure sensor on the condenser
Cooling Fan
Cabin Filter
Air compressor (replaced twice)
Expansion Valve
Receiver Dryer
Temperature Sensor for the engine
Thermostat in evaporator
Sensor by rear-view mirror
Odometer (replaced twice)
Any answers/advice would be greatly appreciated.
