Honestly, I really don't know how it's lasted this long. I'm parked outside without any shade all the time, as I don't drive much during the week, and most of my miles are highway miles -- if that has anything to do with it. Heat definitely affects battery life. But it's crazy hot for only a month or so where live.
I try not to use the AC in stop-and-go traffic. It seems like the compressor uses up two cylinders, and the engine struggles quite a bit. Imagine how hot it gets under that load in a very hot and humid day. Then there is the reflected heat from the black-top under the car. Perhaps I should start driving with the hood latched but not closed in 100F days, just to release some heat ..
