I currently have an 99 base sedan and an 05 Aero wagon. Here's some additional differences between the two that might not have been mentioned.

It's a mixed bag. Overall the 05 has been more reliable, but there are things to like better in the 99.

- The 05 does have a rear seat heater.

-The sid and acc displays in the 05 have never lost pixels. I like the way the sid works in the 05 better. The displays in the 99 had to be fixed numerous times.

- The leather seems to be better quality in the 99. There is more leather everywhere in the 05 but in some ways the interior in the 99 looks nicer.

- The underlying door panel material in the 05 is softer. I like to rest my elbow on the door sill and there is a nasty dent there on the 05. No dent on the 99.

- The telescoping steering wheel mechanism appears to have been changed in the 05. It doesn't work as smoothly as in the 99.

- Both of the cars are automatic trans. I like the 4 speed better in the 99. It shifts smoother. 5 speed in the 05 isn't as smooth. The 05 does have paddle shifters that I use occasionally in mountain driving.

- Front mounted, rear firing backup lights that light up the sides of the car as you back up are gone on the 05. I like that feature on the 99.

- I like the glass front light globes on the 99 better. More durable, don't yellow. Although the xenons are stronger on the 05.

- No front cornering lights on the 05.

- More squeeks and rattles in the 05.

- The subframe bushings on the 05 went bad. Never had that problem on the 99.
