The Negative cables are just as problematic , and grounding points and earth straps have created problems through the ages . Somewhere there are diagrams showing the Ground Points . The 9-5's also have some crimp connects in the wiring harness that create problems galore ! My throttle body would act up in strange ways , then I took it apart and found bare wires with no insulation .
Another possible culprit on your car could be that big goofy multipin connector that goes to the ECU ,or TWICE Modules , if they are not installed perfectly , electrical problems occur .
And Kim , yet another thing to look for is: Dielectric Grease . Too much of it , in the wrong places ,over time and picking up dirt, which attracts moisture can be bad . Opinions vary , I seldom use Dielectric Grease and when I do , use the thinnest amount . Except on the DIC spark plug ,use plenty on the inside of the boots . The multipin connectors should be clean and dry and the contacts should be bright shiny metal , a light grey or white haze can foul the contacts .
Any schools around that teach auto diagnostics nearby ?
Did your car get hit by Lightning or has any welding been done on it ?
Find the problem ...It's there !!
