even a NSS is kind of pricey and not necessarily easy to get (judging from past threads here anyway)... might have been a good deal, but personally, I would look for 04+ due to the reduced risk of sludge with a good pcv kit from the factory. More power also (220 vs 185 hp). Price difference is small now as they are all 10 years old. I'm not saying an 03 is bad, but I'd want a lot more maintenance history on one before buying unless the price was dirt cheap. I'd at least want to drop the pan. I wanted a wagon too, but found it impossible to source an 04+ wagon with roof rails within 300 miles of us at the time (in our price range). There was a half decent 03 wagon, but there was an 04 sedan in much better condition... so we bought that... still would rather have a wagon, but the 9-5 is a good touring car either way.
If you find one with good tires and no suspension issues, that will save you a good $1000 right there...
