Mounting the trunk-mounted CD changer requires two additional items - a harness (which you seem to have), and a bracket (see below)
99-05 9-5 Sedan (Harness 0283382 & Bracket 0283523 req. select below)
99-05 9-5 Sport Combi (Harness 0283382 & Bracket 0271411 req. select below)
If I recall, when I did mine many years ago, all of the mounting hardware came with the bracket kit, not with the changer or the harness. If it is just in there loose, it sounds like the bracket may not be there. The bracket installs to the car, and the changer to the bracket. The changer cannot be secured directly to the car
