Re: Belt selection
I use Goodyear "Gatorback" and have never seen the beginning of a crack in the ribs. That said, the OE "Hutchinson" belt on my '02 was the first OE belt ever to show no rib cracks after the first change interval. "Hutchinson" (a British company) claims to have invented the serpentine belt.
Re: Other things
1) All the idler pulleys (except the center one if you are going the short belt route)
2) Tensioner if you are on the second (or greater) belt change, unless there is evidence that it was changed during the last belt change. Often you find a tensioner assembly on sale for near the price of the tensioner's idler pulley itself, in which case it's stupid not to change the whole assembly. Note that the tensioner pulley is the most heavily loaded of all the idler pulleys (narrowest included angle of the belt, smallest diameter).
