is it correct to say that the car overheats at idle and cools when underway? if so, those symptoms suggest:
- low coolant level
- a restriction in the cooling system
- fans not operating, or operating at reduced capacity.
- water pump operating reduced capacity.
Will the engine cool if you rev up the engine (to say 1500 or 1800 rpm) with the car stationary? if so, I think that rule out the fans for sure.
