Glad you got it solved.
To echo something Bernie said, and I've commented in numerous places on the boards, you should still check the battery cables for voltage drop, especially if they are original to your car.
The added resistance as the corrosion erodes the cable prevents the alternator from recharging the battery efficiently, and can cause the cable to overheat as well. Both of these situations can shorten the battery and alternator life as well as cause other bizarre low voltage gremlins.
In my case, the issue was most noticeable when the car got really sluggish starting after multiple short start/stop cycles like when running errands locally. On my long work drive, it wasn't as extreme. I couldn't believe the difference installing the new positive cable made in crank speed, battery recovery, light brightness, etc -- in many cases (like the lights) I didn't notice how they were dimmer until after the cable, they were brighter!
Just my experience, take it for what its worth.
