Penske, better trucks & better pricing Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Mon, 15 Sep 2014 03:19:56 In Reply to: long haul tow, T.S., Sun, 14 Sep 2014 15:29:43 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I recommend renting a cargo truck with a tow dolly or four-wheel car hauler behind it. Different companies have different minimum truck sizes for pulling a trailer/tow dolly but you may need only a 14 foot truck.
Having assisted both our kids make multiple moves I always go to Penske first. As the subject line says, their trucks are in better condition and their prices have always been lower.
Oh, and stay off the Garden State Parkway. From personal experience even D-I-Y moving trucks are banned from this road. You are pretty much left with I-95 only for moves along the East coast.
