Other things to fix with alternator?

My alternator on my 04 ARC 2.3 T seems to be signalling its bearings are on the way out. Since the Saab is now 10 years old, I was wondering if there is anything else to preemptively fix. 183K km so not that many miles. Anything to be gained from doing the waterpump for example?
TIA
