What some might not think about is that your car have a rigid plastic pipe with the valve cover nipple pressed into the plastic.
Up to 03 was a fairly simple solution and then they screwed it up some in 04-05 and made it worse in 06 and up.
The challenge is to get to the catch release tabs at the bottom under intake manifold but since you have the new pipe in hand you can learn from that how they need to be pressed and then pulled off the PCV box.
I'm not sure if you will be able to work from above and reach under the intake manifold to press and pull the old pipe off.
It is similar to getting the PCV check valve and pipe off that also break all the time on the 04 and up.
On some 06 and up I have used the 04-05 nipple and pulled it out of the rubber hose and then carefully heat up the plastic pipe on car until I could pull the broken nipple out and insert the one from the other hose. This was when the 06 and up pipe was not available.
