I've had that happen before. It will sometimes happen a couple hours into a long trip and I'll get an "Airbag" message - then it will go away. Sometimes I get no message at all. It's very inconsistent and has only happened a handful of times in three years. It could be a wiring issue with the airbag, not sure. I've checked codes with my OpCom set-up and it turns up nothing.
BTW for more peace of mind, OpCom is the way to go. It will display any codes you may have related to Airbag, ESP (ABS), HVAC, and Engine systems. Check FleaBay. I find it runs best on an old XP laptop. You'll find lots of references and links to it here on this board.
