I see that on the Volvo's here and there where one year/model/engine is using an old fashioned solid pulley and the other year/model/engine is using the freewheeling clutch pulley.
Can't say I'm impressed with the freewheel clutch pulley since that's what fails many times on the Volvo alternators.
Many times you can see a brownish rust colored dust around the alternator shaft which is produced by the clutch.
