I figured out that non-OEM ballasts will not talk to a Tech II or OpCom. And here I thought my OpCom tool had gone lame. It turns out my angle sensors, both front and back are bad.
See the linked file in dropbox to see what I learned!
Many say that Xenon lights are excessively fussy. They're expensive to maintain, yes. Remember that many of these cars were $35k+ ten years ago or more so contemporary high tech components were expected by the original owners. Lots of cars had them back then and they're just as expensive to maintain, or moreso. BTW, the Valeo ballasts used in our 9-5s are nearly identical to those used in a Porsche Cayenne.
