I have had a bunch of 9000's but never owned a 9-5. My 97 Aero got ran into yesterday and I'm pretty sure it will be totaled. I looked at a 07 9-5 5 speed today and was wondering what pitfalls to watch out for. I know about the SID problems and the sludge issue. Did the sludge issue get resolved by 07? I took the car for a short test drive and it was loud and had a high frequency vibration that buzzed through the car. I told my wife I thought it had a bad exhaust. When we got back I looked under the car and the exhaust pipe was broken in two behind the muffler(?). I think it would not vibrate like that once the exhaust is fixed. Any other issues to look for? The car has about 95K on it.
