No Start - Starter Fluid, Must be Fuel Test - Uh no Posted by mdSaabCZ [Email] (#1878) [Profile/Gallery] (more from mdSaabCZ) on Mon, 7 Dec 2015 09:43:34 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hi all. Lesson learned. 04 Aero stall, no start. Starter fluid in the throttle body, starts right up. Must be fuel then, right? Common belief, sometimes right. NOT ALWAYS! At least two more culprits. If it is the crankshaft position sensor not sending signal, no signal is sent to fire on the injectors from the ECU, so although that IS a fuel issue, it isn't the culprit, it is a symptom. CPS is the culprit. Also, similar situation happens with the thermometer, apparently. That was not my issue, so I can't confirm it first hand, but it was suggested by another smart dude on this site. So, don't be like me and run out to by a pump (in fairness, I couldn't hear it, I only felt a slight vibration when I put my hand on it, so it could have been bad too). Lesson I learned, thought I share it, there are many posts here with the started fluid test as the answer to the dilemma.
