CV Joint Companion Flange Posted by mdSaabCZ [Email] ![]() ![]() |
Hello good people,
I finally figured out where my weird only above 2000 RPM and only in Drive vibration was coming from, and found a few things. My tranny mount is toast, the whole tranny seem to be about an inch off, away from the driver side wheel. That was easy. Then, with the tire off, on jacks, wife stepping on gas, I noticed my inner cv was not rotating smoothly, it was making the axle rotate off, meaning not staying in one place, kind of like jumping up and down. That was the cause fo the vibration. I am going to replace the tranny mount, obviously. Since the tranny moved, do I have to replace any other mounts? Second question. If I have to replace the CV Joint Companion Flange, is that really hard, do I need special tools? I am sick of working on things that broke, I want to be working on things that improve performance. Please help me out, as you have many times before. Hip hip hurray for the Swede, you have been a stellar treasure of advice, btw, so thank you.
