This is not SAD at all. And Saab is not dead to me.
I personally want NOTHING to do with new cars. Old cars can be very reliable if you maintain them. Maybe it is because I have an aircraft maintenance background and I am generally a gear head. I love my old cars and treat them well.
I have a 1990 Chevrolet pickup that I can drive across the country.
I have a 1973 Porsche 911 RS that I can drive across the country.
I have a 2003 Saab Aero that I can drive across the country.
My wife has a 2001 Saab Aero wagon that we can drive across the country.
All are in like new condition.
I have come to the point in my life where I have selected a set of cars that I love and have learned to service and repair them.
I feel each in an exceptional car, and the direction taken by new cars and new cars in general tell me nothing.
I have cut the cord from warranties and new car dealers, and I am proud to maintain my fleet.
I love my Saabs, pick up, and Porsche.....IT IS NOT SAD.....
What am I going to "move on to"?
What am I going to aspire to?
I love my cars and am very happy with them......what is SAD about that??
AND most of all I want to drive something unique and special and not see a car like mine several times a day.
Just my personal opinion of course.....to each his own.
