Yes, I did Posted by southsaab [Email] (#2143) [Profile/Gallery] (more from southsaab) on Wed, 26 Apr 2017 16:14:46 In Reply to: Are you really drilling holes?, Bill h., Wed, 26 Apr 2017 07:49:15 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have an SEM DIC that was my spare, about 20k of use, that I drilled holes in the black housing below the case. It is a good unit. I removed the black housing first, or else you are drilling into components. Thought it was ingenious, and decided to give it a try.
James Ng, the one who came up with it, is a Saabist of note. He posts regularly on trionictuning.com, which is the highest level of Saabdom, dealing with chip tuning and higher levels of performance. And he runs a Saab shop in Malaysia, and IMO, knows his shit. Have great respect for him. So, I'm giving it a try. The Malaysian forum I linked is basically "Professor" Ng tutoring Saabists.
Anyway, I wanted to try it on a Chinese DIC, but didn't have one on hand. Malaysian Saabists have issues with Chinese AFT parts, too, but James sources from China occasionally. Seems to know more about the manufacturers than non-Asian Saabists.
I'll see how it goes.
