I'm wondering if the old style glass lens headlights (1999-2001) are the same dimensions, mounting tabs etc as the newer polycarbonate lens ones (2002+), as if they could be made to work, it would save a world of frustration with the yellowing... I'm due to polish the headlights on my 2004 for the 4th time now. Interestingly the side lighting does not have this problem!
A surprising number of things are not compatible... even seatbelts have electronics in the latch that prevents a 2001 latch from working in a 2004 (without modification) (btdt).
However, lots of parts may be resellable to someone with a pre-2002. Also factor in your time...
