Sedan? Coupe? SUV? Wagon?
Not much out there now that is like the 9-5.
Previous generation BMW 3 series is still a nice drivers car. Parts are very expensive.
Volvo s60s and s80s have great seats. They handle like land yachts. The newer generation s60 is sportier. I hate even changing the oil on my wife's Volvo wagon.
Just rented a 2017 Altima, 3.5 SL. Very nice car. I was pleasantly surprised.
Some folks like the rwd Infinity coupes and sedans.
The new Mazda sedans are fairly nice and a little sporty. I drove both the small one and the big one and was impressed with both. Interior had a very cheap feel, though.
If I were buying a sedan now, I'd probably look for a nice used Legacy sedan, preferably the manual GT trim from the next to last generation.
Sportiest VW is the Jetta GLI, but they were decontented several years ago, so you won't find one that has the interior amenities that our Saabs do.
