Strange high pitched whirr this morning Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Fri, 16 Jun 2017 07:13:17 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I noticed a strange, and very subtle, whirr when pulling away from stops or accelerating while moving during this morning's commute. My mind was going crazy trying to determine from the driver's seat if the noise was originating in the transmission, the serpentine pulley system, or what?
I turned off my radio to listen better as I got closer to work and the noise was gone! I was using a Digital FM Adapter feeding into the head unit to listen to a Jazz station, and some part of it must have been picking up ignition interference. The adapter itself, the output cord feeding into the front panel jack, the antenna adapter now buried behind the dash, etc.
Hopefully the noise will be gone during tonight's commute with the radio OFF as well.
