I got my car at Budds and I must say the service there was first rate. Deal with Norm Carter- He's the general manager there and I dealt with him when I bought my car (2002 9-5 Aero wagon, previously Norm's car) When you speak to Norm, tell him I referred you (Brad Annis) I hope that won't spoil the deal!
If you'd like, I should be getting some service done there within the next few weeks- I could take a look at the car and let you know my opinion. I've probably seen it on the lot, just can't remember off the top of my head which was which.
What are you looking for in particular?
When I was shopping around in early May, I came across a brand new 2001 Aero Wagon at Pickering Saab (20 min E of Toronto) They were offering to give it to me for 48K- That was their starting point, now that the '03s will be out soon if they still have it you can probably swing a really good deal. That one was Black with charcoal interior, fully loaded with ventilated seats.
I'm not sure if 33K for a used 2001 is a good deal or not, I'll leave that up to the others on this board to decide.
Thornhill Saab (10 min N of Toronto) has a couple of brand new 2002 Aero wagons- fully loaded automatic, I think they've got one silver and one black The price listed is 61200, but thats just the retail price so you work out your deal.
I don't need much prompting to go out and look at cars, so if you'd like I would be happy to go to any of these dealerships and check out the cars for you and let you know a non-salespersons opinion.
2001 has a 4 speed auto, HP in the Aero was 230, not sure about the other models.
For reference with the price- As I mentioned, I bought Norms car and it had 12000 kms on it and I got 12000 off the retail price. 61-25=36, so by my very scientific calculation 33 seems like a reasonable price.
If I had more vacation time left this year, I'd drive it out there for you for the price of a return ticket- I've always wanted to drive out to the left hand side of Canada. That would add another 5000 kms on it though.
Good luck on your search and let me know if you need any help on this side.
Brad
