Eventually got it done. I say eventually because it took them some effort to get the bushings on. And this was at a professional shop that I know and have used often.
When the difficult middle bushing finally went on (the Lemfoerder) it went on apparently with "the sound of a gun going off".
The cost for me was not indicative as last year they put the rear (Front/rear) bushings on ONLY. Because I ordered the wrong ones (Lemfoerder 05 version) they wore out quickly. At that time they charged me 600 for that as if it was the whole 6.
So this time around, I pointed that mis-charge out to them, and they charged me 409 for the 4 bushing(fronts were perfect even at 95,000) AND the wheel alignment AND I got them to change the control arms (bushings on it were pre-installed Moogs) while in there. They were fantastic.
The Genuine ones went on the rear and the Lem's in the center after I had considered getting the poly. In fact should have done so.
I'm happy though. It is nice and tight again and feels really good.
Now on to other things..... although I am hoping that that is the last time I do the bushings as I do a LOT of miles in this car.
$409 was amazing in my book especially from a place that I know I can trust their work and accountability.
