P1141 CEL and Fast Idle

I installed a GenuineSaab/Taliaferro downpipe with high flow catalytic, and now I get a P1141 check engine light. From what I've read, this is a fault in the heating element of the rear O2 sensor. The car's a 2008 9-5 wagon with 83,000 miles on it.
I've got new sensors ordered (I figured they're getting ready to be replaced anyway), so hopefully that'll solve the problem. Most likely, it's due to the new catalytic, but I'm crossing my fingers that the rear O2 sensor wire was damaged during the downpipe installation. If I still get the CEL with the new O2 sensors, does anyone have ideas as to how to get rid of it?
Possibly related is when I first start the car, it idles high (1,200-1,500 rpm), then slowly settles down to the normal 850 or so. It takes perhaps one minute after starting for it to settle down. I don't recall if it did this before the new catalytic/downpipe (I think it did, but the fast idle wasn't quite so high, perhaps 1,000-1,200).
Thanks in advance.
