I believe the top hose on the bypass valve connects to the top port on the firewall..and the bottom hose off the valve connects into T fitting...from which one of the 2 other hoses connects to the bottom port on the firewall...
Make sure the coolant level in the overflow is filled to the top line.. when mine was slightly low.. in noticed a reduction in heat output..
having them backwards doesn't mean you wont get heat.. it just means the coolant entering the heating core will not be as hot...
Also ..check the 2 heating core pipes on the inside passenger side.. they should both be really hot.. once the car warms up.. if not.. then the valve could be defective.. or you may have an air gap in there.. or the core is clogged, etc..
if both are hot.. then try recalibrating the ACC system .. and check for any non-zero codes..
