Can someone confirm that the washer fluid goes straight from the plastic fitting inside through the shaft to the outside? I want to be sure there's no orifice or bend to contend with...
Symptom: tailgate wiper Wipes, but no wash fluid gets to the outside of the car.
Done so far:
1) replace check valve
2) test check valve - fluid exits the rubber elbow just fine.
3) run coat hanger into shaft from outside: Gets 3-4" in, stops.
4) run 1/16" drill bit into hole (carefully) from inside: goes the full length of bit (inch to inch and a half), stops.
5) run coat hanger in from outside again: stops further out, but can push back in...
Repeated, but still not getting a clear tube.
The tailgate trim is off to replace the check valve, and will be until I solve this. Wiper runs fine, so if all it takes is to clear the shaft of rust, etc., I'll continue until it is done.
