The global ECOTEC engine is a 2.2L 4 cylinder engine. SAAB's new 2.0 L four is variant based on that engine, but SAAB had a heavy hand in its design. It's got an all aluminum block (instead of iron) and still has chain driven camshafts (the global ECOTEC engine was supposed to get belt driven camshafts, IIRC).
Don't sweat it.
