When my green rollers broke the outdoor temp was negative 15 degrees Fahrenheit! And I had to drive 37 miles to get home where new green rollers were waiting.
Yes, a temporary fix is possible. I cut 2-inch wide strips of corrugated cardboard from the lid of a paper ream box here at work. Lifted the window glass up to the closed position, then used the cardboard strips on the inside of the door to firmly wedge the glass in place. I did this by inserting the strips between the glass and inner weather stripping.
I inserted strips all along the window opening, top, bottom, front edge and rear edge, was able to drive the 37 miles home at 70MPH on the expressway with no incident. I installed the new rollers the following day in my garage - still bitterly cold weather!
