Yes, it is a daily driver, well maintained. I assume the original exhaust system is (mostly) stainless steel. In any case it has lasted 15 years in North Eastern US - winters and all.
I don't expect to have the car another 15 years so getting something not quite as durable but long lasting (10 years?) would be desirable (would probably save some $ too which would be desirable)
In doing searching at various SAAB parts sites, I keep seeing Starla and Bosal. Are these any good?
Also I plan on replacing all the rubber hangars.
In the event that the system is one piece from the cat back, and if I just got the resonator, I am assuming a muffler shop could cut the existing pipe at the rear muffler and clamp the new pipe to it? or would they insist on everything new from cat back?
Hmm what muffler shops tend to be 'good'? I have little experience and one that worked well for me was Monroe, but it was on a Jeep and not a Saab and I brought them all OEM parts from the cat back and they did the install.
Thanks for the pointers
