Being a plug explains the low price. When you posted cover I was thinking of a larger rectangular item secured by bolts. If fluid is leaking out then you know it has fluid on the opposite side sometimes. May want to replace this plug with the tranny drained. You also may want to take your new plug to the local Hardware Store to buy an O-Ring that fits it, assuming it does not arrive with an O-ring. Maybe you will need an O-ring and maybe not, but cheap insurance to have it on-hand before you start.
