Unfortunately, you should be very worried. Other than the obvious Saab employees trying to keep you calm on this bulletin board, there is a growing list of people with huge issues with the 1999 9-5. I am one of them. There have been several lawsuits filed against Saab in a number of states, related to manufacturing flaws and the Lemon Law.
If you send me a direct response, I can forward you a link to the other user group, where the responses are a bit more honest.
One thing is true, you're lucky/smart to have purchased an extended warranty. At least it won't cost you much in $$, just time and frustration.
