to buy a car in Sweden since almost all cars that are ready for sale right away are very basic in equippment. Swedes in general doesnt's care much for what they call "gadgets", and the ones who do have to wait several month on their special ordered car.

With special order I mean, powerseat,powermirrors,A/C,powerlocks,powersteering,auto trans and any special engine or color choices.

Things that we kind of take for granted on a car in America.

It might be that the car climate have changed in recent years though since we Swedes look up to America in many ways and try to copy the lifestyle?

Another thing is that the pricetag (even if you don't have to pay the 25% sales tax) is usually higher there than the same Saab sold in US, does that make sense?

And after what I hear is that, if you use the US backed delivery system they lower the price even more, so the trip to Sweden almost pays for it self.

As for emission related stuff, I think all the cars there have the same standard as US, just like all States uses the same standard for import cars. Earlier it was called a 49 State car or CA equipped car.
