Would dealer incentive get taxed if publicized like GM? The Saab incentives are not public information, not advertised anywhere, and the dealer can use them on a pre-tax basis. With a GM rebate the consumer receives the rebate to use to pay for the vechile after the tax is computed on the higher amount. With Saab the dealer gets to lower the selling price before the tax is computed, saving the tax on the rebate.
So I imagine that's why it's somewhat difficult for consumers to discern the actual amount.
Have you asked your local dealer? He'll want to know how you intend to pay as their are different incentives for different methods of payment.
