Hello,
My experience is from using the tester/special tool DI's that we had at the dealership way back when. When the T7 cars came out we were not told until later that a different special tester DI existed for it. The T5 test DI was painted Blue and the T7 test DI was painted a green color. We used that blue DI for a long time as a DI tester in the T7 cars and never damaged the electronic of the car.
That being said I would not drive a T7 car any length of time with the T5 DI in it or would I drive a T5 car any length of time with T7 DI. But to see if the car started or to drive it a short distance home in a pinch, I have and would use it again. Good Luck, Bernie
