2002 9-5 Trans Issue with my 2004 trans Posted by Flashheart [Email] (#2041) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Flashheart) on Mon, 13 Jun 2022 07:07:20 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hi all, SO here is the deal - I have a 2002 aero with a 2004 trans, and the 2004 TCM. The car runs fine when cold.....AND when you pull the battery cable - for even a minute.
However - once it adapts - the car on long drives or when it gets hot - throws a downshift error and slams into gear - P0780. Also goes to trans limp home. Turn car off then on - and presto drives fine. However it may occur again. If you pull the battery cable - the car drives great again even if hot.
I am thinking electrical issue - but have tried swapping TCMs - but the 2002, 2003 ones I have seem to have the car not drive well - but the 2004 does...until that issue.
I have changed out speed sensors, valve body, replaced solenoids.....to no avail. I would say mechanical issue - except that I can seem to cure it by wiping the TCM adaption?
Driving me nuts.
