Like many others keeping my '02 and others alive I've switched SID's and had the annoying SID msg come up every time I started the car. The washer fluid was fine. The only tips I got from many searches was get a matched SID or re-program SID etc. I recently found a post on an obscure euro saab group explaining the fluid level REED switch. Usually that contact is closed when the fluid is up and the float is floating. When empty, the float(which has a magnet in it) pulls open the switch and that open circuit signal goes to SID and gives the 'Low Fluid' display. I pulled the front drivers side wheel liner and unplugged the level sensor. Using a mirror, paper clips, ohm meter and some left>right, right>left brain/hand movement found the switch had 'infinite' resistance. Cutting and reversing the connector leads wouldn't do anything. I made a jumper with spade connectors cut to fit into the SID connector that in effect 'closed' the circuit and viola! No more annoying messages! Pic below of the jumper. Hope this is helpful to others. Happy Motoring!
