Does anyone know the specs of the shock absorber bolt? I was attempting this job yesterday. I had to give up, as I could not remove the axle nut or one of the shock nuts. I'm going to take it to a shop, but I want to have them replace one of the bolts; pretty sure it's going to break, or at least get strained to beyond a safe limit. I got it about half way off, then it just wouldn't move any more. I could see the nut turn about 30 degrees with no movement along the threads, which has to be near the shear limit of that bolt.
As for the axle bolt, I hit for 30 minutes with a 1200ft-lb impact driver and it didn't budge. Also tried a breaker bar with a 6 foot snipe, probably got about 2000ft-lb that way, and nothing. I have no idea what it might take to remove, but I'm going to leave it to a pro.
