Another tale of woe with aftermarket DI cassette

Preface: This would've been preventable if I'd carried my spare (old but OEM) DI cassette, so this is entirely a venting session and cautionary tale.
So I'm down in Florida with my 2006 Sportcombi, and after a few days of difficult starting after rainfall and one instance of sudden stalling on the highway, it completely died while driving and couldn't be restarted despite being able to turn over. I discounted the fuel pump because it had been replaced just last summer. After getting it home, I ordered a new OEM DI cassette and took out the one installed in the car, which turned out to be a no-name aftermarket one that must've been there from the previous owner. It was there that I discovered a worrying sight: one of the bolts that held the cassette case together was completely missing, and the plastic lower piece was separating from the upper metal piece. Once the new part arrived, I installed it and the 9-5 started up as if none of this had happened. Just another cautionary tale, as if one was needed, about the pitfalls of aftermarket DI cassettes, especially when they come with a used car and there's no history about it.
