Thanks Bernie, you've been very helpful to me.
I got under the car and tried to loosen the CPS screw but the wrench kept falling off when I turn it. Didnt want to completely demolish it. Looks like the screw is probably worn down, and may be mated to the engine at this point with age.
I'll probably send this to an indy, but do you think if they need to extract it will work out?
I also noted that with those codes, cylinder 2 had an issue. I pulled the spark plug which is essentially new (300miles if that) and it was black, and smelled of gas.
Not sure if a black spark plug is
* because of the DIC?
* Or, a cylinder issue?
* Or could a CPS malfunction cause misfire that results in this condition?
I'm getting very conservative with the car, and don't want to invest in an expensive DIC until I'm more sure of the status of the engine.
