How to remove trim for wagon rear hatch struts?

2005 9-5 wagon. The rear hatch struts have failed and the antenna needs replacement, too. I have searched all over Saabnet, youtube, and google but haven't found the answer to this question:
Exactly what tools do I need, and what motions do I make, to properly remove the headliner trim pieces? I'm stumped at the first step, removing the center trim strip below the hinges. I see that it is attached at two places. Each has a post attached to the roof and a bracket which I think is molded into the trim. The bracket appears to slide off the post - at least it looks that way as the rear of the bracket is open. But no reasonable amount of force on the panel in either direction will budge it.
I'm guessing the D-pillar trim pieces will be equally tricky.
I must do this job myself for lack of money. For the same reason, I can't afford to break anything. I can afford a set of trim removal tools but don't know what to buy. Advice there would be much appreciated, too.
I did a complete headliner replacement on my 92 900S about ten years ago, but that was quite straightforward compared to this.
