Hello All,
I pulled the brake master cylinder today in preparation for replacing the brake vacuum booster. When I removed the master cylinder from the brake booster, there is a "neck" (as it were) on the master cylinder which fits into the booster about an inch deep. This neck had blotchy brake fluid on it, and the back of the master cylinder was wet with brake fluid. Am I looking at a master cylinder which is about to grenade itself? Could it be the case that brake fluid leaking from the master cylinder into the brake booster caused the booster to deteriorate and give up the ghost?
