Yes, interior light has to come out as well as the center panel and D-pillar covers and the two covers running alongside roof line and then carefully twist the two clips 90° to release them and then you have to slightly lower the headliner down and shove a wooden block in to hold it down while working on the shocks.
If the shocks still have lock clips, you need to figure out the direction to release the clips. The new Stabilus shocks comes with a quick release clip instead.
Don't be surprised if the center panel goes up in dust. After all the years, they are brittle like crazy and no matter how careful you are, they crumble to pieces. Been driving without one for years now on my car.
