There are special sockets to remove stripped bolts .... They "bite" into the head to grip it....
A "temporary" solution I used on my 9-5 (strap broke 2 miles from home... Count myself lucky too!) : I used a ratchet strap to hold the tank up .... The body frame of the 9-5 does have 2 "eye hooks" L & R near the door sills I think... I hook the HF strap to each eye ... Jacked up the tank in position w a wooden support to distribute the weight (don't position the wood to interfere w the strap!) ... Tightened the strap so the ratchet part was at the exhaust (keep the strap safe from exhaust heat!)....
I have been thinking of making a L to R tank support out of a bed frame rail: making two plates on the ends to allow it to bolt to the "eyes" on the body frame (+ wrapping foam pipe protectors around the rail to prevent "rubbing" of the tank)
Hope this helps!
Saab on!
