Your approach is sound, but one caveat. When you pull#2 plug it will likely look bad because it is experiencing misfires. So inspecting plug #2 won't be conclusive.
I think I'd start the diagnosis by swapping injector #2 with another. if the misfire follows the injector you know it's the injector. If not you know it's the plug or DIC
